๐ŸƒIn the run up to World Book Day, last week I took part in a Book Club sharing session via zoom with an audience of kids and their parents from Malaysia and Singapore.

It was a wonderful session with TWEENs & TEENs. I read to them from The House of Ibn Kathir - Year Captain. With Ramadan just around the corner they listened to an excerpt taken from chapter 1, following Yusifโ€™s own experience of fasting during the blessed month of Ramadan; from the joys to his goals and challenges. ๐ŸŒ™

There were lots of questions; from โ€˜about the booksโ€™ to what was behind their inspiration as well as plenty of writing tips given out on the day for the budding young writers in the audience. We talked about lots of things like; planning a story, overcoming writers block, character development, creative writing using interesting vocabulary or โ€˜wow wordsโ€™ to help bring stories to life.

Thank you to everyone who attended. It was a productive and memorably fun time for all. The kids were just fantastic, inspirational, enthusiastic readers and writers that were full of questions on the day, Alhamdulillah!

If youโ€™re a book club or a school (in the UK or abroad๐ŸŒŽ), and would like to take part in your very own sharing session by virtual meet, get in touch by visiting the โ€˜contact usโ€™ page of the book website (see link in bio). ๐Ÿ“š

Happy reading!
